You may walk past this ordinary-looking brick building on the corner of second and 2nd and not even look at it twice. But within it lies two cinema screens showing some of the most independent and innovative screenings that you will ever find in the city.

Basically, this is not the place you will find your average Adam Sandler fan. This is for serious movie obsessives. Its main goal is to preserve the work of some of the most talented and challenging filmmakers around today, and 7 nights a week you’ll be able to enjoy a completely unpredictable run of films which you will be very hard-pressed to find anywhere else. It’s a pretty safe bet you won’t be able to buy nachos or a hot dog here, but Anthology is an essential part of the city’s exhibition scene and one that all serious film buffs hope will be around for a long time to come.
