In 1993 the venue was converted into a club and a music spot following old rock-n-roll underground traditions. It was a starting point in the career of such popular New York-based music band as the Strokes who made their first steps on this stage.

The venue has one special feature. Every band needs to get through the crowd in order to reach the stage. This makes the audience feel as if they also were a part of what's happening around.

The stage is rather spacious, total capacity is 250+. The staff is friendly. You feel yourself at home in Mercury Lounge. Check with the venue’s calendar, you’ll certainly find something to your liking.
