The Peoples Improv Theater (the PIT) in New York was founded in 2002 by an American actor and master of improvisation Ali Farahnakian known for his participation in “Delocated” comedy series. This place was initially conceived as a home for so beloved by everyone sketch, stand-up comedy, improvisation comedy, and various local and guest theatrical performances.

The theater has undergone several changes during its active years and has moved to its present location at 123 East 24th Street in 2011. Today the PIT not only aims to entertain the public with its outstanding shows, but also provides a variety of classes and educational workshops for young actors and comics.
