Originally known as the Little Shubert theater, Stage 42 is a first off-Broadway theater built by the Shubert Organization. Don’t let the location trick you! You might expect a small venue, but Stage 42 has an auditorium with its stage and an orchestra pitch big enough to match those on Broadway.
Stadium seating provides a clear view on stage from every point and 499 seats are enough for a small army of the theatre-lovers. Spacious and rich, with bright colors in interior and reproductions of artworks, Stage 42 creates artistic and original atmosphere.
Despite the young age, Stage 42 has quite a list of great shows. “Lady Day” with brilliant Tony Award winner Dee Dee Bridgewater, “My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish, and I’m in Therapy”, “Viagara Falls”, Harry Potter parody “Potted Potter”, and others.
